Pendeš received the Commander of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo Marty J. Bissell

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina Marina Pendeš received on August 2, 2018, for an introductory visit the newly appointed Commander of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, Brigadier General Marty J. Bissell, with whom she discussed the activities of the MoD and AF BiH, as well as the long-standing successful cooperation with the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo.

Minister Pendeš welcomed Brigadier General Bissell and congratulated her on her appointment to this position.

- I believe that cooperation with the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo is very important, as we have made significant progress in the MoD and AF BiH since its inception, and our cooperation is at the highest level - emphasized Minister Pendeš.

On this occasion, Minister Pendeš informed General Bissell about the most important activities and goals of the MoD and AF BiH, including the activation of the NATO Membership Action Plan (MAP) and the importance that activation carries for the state of BiH, the contribution of members of the MoD and AF BiH in peacekeeping missions, the resolution of surplus weapons and explosive ordnance, which contributes to security and stability not only in BiH and other joint projects that the MoD and AF BiH have with the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo.

General Bissell thanked for the reception and information, and expressed satisfaction with the future cooperation, emphasizing that she supports the goals of the Ministry of Defence and AF BiH.
