Peljto from prison: I can only be a slave to the exalted Lord, not to the human race

Former boxer Mensur Peljto, who was arrested two days ago in Sarajevo on suspicion of committing a war crime, has been in prison since 11:15 AM without any legal basis, his lawyer Faruk Balijagić claims, reports the Patria news agency.

- The Prosecutor's Office of Brčko District did not request detention for my client Peljto, only security measures, but the police still haven't released him and I have already filed a criminal complaint. I also called the police commander, but he is unavailable. I don't know what's going on, but it's obvious that political powers want to show what they can do – says Balijagić.

At the time we spoke with Balijagić, he was in prison with Mensur Peljto, who wanted to talk to us, but the police did not allow it. Nevertheless, Peljto sent a message:

- I can only be a slave to the exalted Lord of the worlds, not to the human race as they want to make me – Peljto said.

Otherwise, Peljto is suspected of a war crime because he allegedly slapped four members of a Chetnik formation from Bijeljina (Second Semberian Chetnik Brigade) in the premises in Ograđenovac, where they were allegedly held as prisoners of war.
