Watch out, Sebija is suing: Citizen lethargy and the need for urgent action by the KS Government

The photo you see was taken these days in front of the Sarajevo University Clinical Center. Freezing patients are waiting to enter the institution they are financing.

 
I will not say that the bad situation at KCUS began with the arrival of Sebija Izetbegović, but I will dare to state that Dr. Izetbegović's reign of terror frightens not only employees but also patients. You have to be lucky to get help at KCUS with the crowds that prevail. To get through to submit your booklet, then they send you to the cashier, then you return and wait again while the nurses and doctors yell at you to move away or they will stop the examinations. Sick people, most often in their later years, listen to these threats, and the help they expect has become an exception rather than the rule, confirming that there is no system in healthcare at all! Just a pile of egos trying to convince us that two and two are not four.

KCUS is, in fact, the lifeline of the healthcare system, not only of Sarajevo Canton but of the entire Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We do not have any reports on its operations, except for word of mouth in the media where Sebija tells us that the debt has been reduced and that patients come first. Then you come to the scene and find horror.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Dr. Izetbegović has repeatedly stated that they are under pressure and that it is a question of how long they will last. 

And how long will the patients, for whom you exist, last? And after all the appeals and stories about the tremendous pressure, I wondered when the professor managed to pack a lawsuit against Dr. Zehra Dizdarević. A doctor who once helped Izetbegović on her path to fame!

Watch out for the wolf you feed, as our people would say. Dr. Dizdarević is the mother of Prof. Dr. Kemal Dizdarević, one of the 200 doctors who left KCUS when Izetbegović took over KCUS, a distinguished neurosurgeon who is now saving lives around the world, while we wait in line for a diagnosis.

We certainly have more of them. One of them is collective lethargy, because we are definitely in a state of tiredness, exhaustion, overwork, and lack the energy for the normal functioning of the body in this state of society. We lack the motivation for change. We cannot move forward, and we have nowhere to go back to.

The earlier 'clash' between Dr. Kemal Dizdarević and Sebija Izetbegović was open, strong, powerful, with harsh words. Dr. Izetbegović's lawsuit was absent, and now she strikes where it is weakest, at his mother, a doctor who is nearing 80 years old!?

The struggle for survival is human destiny. People differ from each other in abilities, inclinations, especially in spiritual and intellectual strength, character, endurance. And Dr. Izetbegović knows the strength of Kemal Dizdarević, so now she is playing psychological games.

Dr. Izetbegović's power is growing. It is reflected in her political ability, which she draws from her husband Bakir, to appoint whomever she wants to the KCUS Management Board.

And it doesn't matter to her that Sarajevo Canton, as the largest financier, opposes it, because the KCUS Management Board consists of suitable individuals subordinate solely to her and her interests, not those who should be concerned with the proper and justified expenditure of hundreds of millions of KM. In this case, the KS Government, despite having two members representing the founder, is blind and deaf. These are members that the Government dismissed back in 2019 and appointed new ones, but the federal Minister of Health, Vjekoslav Mandić, never respected that decision. In this way, he enabled Sebija Izetbegović's complete control over the majority of KCUS Management Board members.

And she will continue with her plan, while the lethargic, freezing masses wait for hours just to enter KCUS.

Therefore, the 'Četvorka' coalition must first develop a strategy for relations with the Sarajevo University Clinical Center. For the 140 million KM that the Sarajevo Canton pays to KCUS annually, it is scandalous that they have no rights or authority over the spending of that money. If KCUS is a federal institution, then the Federation of BiH should also take over the financing. KS could redirect the money to the General Hospital and strengthen its capacities, because the health of citizens should never depend on the 'will' of one person.

How much Sebija 'respects' one of the founders and the largest financiers is also shown by the fact that she did not allow the cantonal inspection to carry out a control, because they are supposedly a federal institution. Entry for representatives of the KS Assembly, who visited all healthcare institutions in Sarajevo, was also not allowed.

Therefore, the KS Government is expected to finally confront this way of managing KCUS. It seems it cannot get any worse; we will have to wait anyway, whether you pay 140 million or not.
