On Sunday, March 29, 2015, at 10 PM, hackers attacked the Patria website (www.nap.ba).
This is the second time the news agency Patria has been targeted by hackers. The first attack, which occurred last year, was reported to police agencies, but to date we have not received any feedback.
In recent months, attacks on media freedoms and journalists have intensified, which is clear evidence that certain groups and individuals, primarily disturbed by reporting on crime and corruption, are trying at all costs to stop journalists from professionally performing their jobs through threats.
Patria is now under attack, following our publication of Kemal Čaušević's statement mentioning the names of numerous BiH politicians, the marketing affair "Gibraltar", and after the participation of Patria's editor-in-chief in the show "Pošteno" where threats to the national security of BiH were discussed.
The editorial board of the news agency Patria will inform all police agencies in BiH, the American Embassy, the OHR, the OSCE, and the EU Delegation about this attack on media freedom.
We view the hacking of Patria's website as pressure and a threat to stop writing about certain political power brokers, crime and corruption, and all illegalities facing BiH society.
No one will ever stop Patria on the path of uncovering the truth, no matter how powerful the politicians and criminal circles involved.
