Pašović: The Board could not work because the Prosecutor's Office is investigating the National Museum

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH is conducting certain investigative activities related to the situation of the National Museum in Sarajevo. As part of this process, several activities are being undertaken, including questioning a larger number of individuals, the BiH Prosecutor's Office stated regarding the investigation into criminal liability for the situation at the National Museum of BiH for almost two years now, writes the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

On the other hand, the president of the interim Management Board appointed by the Government of FBiH at the session on April 28, 2014, Haris Pašović, told the Patria agency that he is satisfied with the investigation of the BiH Prosecutor's Office at the National Museum.

- This is an unprecedented situation. It is terrifying that such an institution is without any control. The Board could not do anything until the Prosecutor's Office completed its investigation – said Pašović, whose mandate expires on July 28, and it is still unknown what the next steps of the FBiH Government will be.

He stated that the employees of the National Museum do not respect the decision of the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs, which on May 8 ordered the removal of all elements installed on the facade and doors.

- The building of the National Museum of BiH is declared a national monument, and any intervention on the facade is punishable – said Pašović.

Otherwise, after the investigators of the BiH Prosecutor's Office entered the National Museum on June 17, the day after, the banner that read "The museum is closed/Museum is closed" was removed, but not the two boards on the Museum's entrance doors, writes NAP.
