(Patria) - Parliamentary elections in the Netherlands will be held on October 29, after the country's government collapsed earlier this week.
The election date was confirmed today by Interior Minister Judith Uitermark after a government meeting in The Hague.
The political crisis erupted due to disagreements within the four-party coalition over immigration policy.

The key moment was the withdrawal of Geert Wilders and his far-right Freedom Party from the coalition, which disrupted the parliamentary majority.
Shortly thereafter, Prime Minister Dick Schoof resigned, and King Willem-Alexander officially accepted it on Wednesday, asking him to serve as caretaker prime minister until the elections.
