Polish Parliament votes no confidence in Morawiecki, is Tusk returning to the scene?

(Patria) - Members of the Polish Parliament have voted no confidence in Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, paving the way for a broad coalition of pro-European parties led by Donald Tusk to take power in the country.

Out of a total of 456 MPs, 266 voted no confidence in Morawiecki, who was supported by 190 MPs in the vote.

The vote ended the eight-year rule of the nationalist Law and Justice (PiS) party, which critics said undermined judicial independence, turned state media into propaganda portals, and fueled prejudice against minorities such as immigrants and the LGBT community.

Tusk, a former President of the European Council, has pledged to repair relations with Brussels and unblock billions of euros allocated to Warsaw but withheld due to European Union concerns about the state of the rule of law in Poland.
