FBiH Parliament Discusses State of Agriculture Today

Deputies of the Federal Parliament will discuss the state of agriculture in this BiH entity at a thematic session today.
The session was initiated by SBB deputy Azra Hadžić. Minister Šemsudin Dedić is considered responsible for the poor situation in agriculture.

Dedić stated in a previous interview for NAP that 'certain politicians from the Una-Sana Canton plan to use federal institutions for local political showdowns'. 

- That is why I am not thinking too much about the announcements of dismissal. I only regret that our farmers are being attempted to be misused – said Dedić.

He added that he had worked hard in the past two years to correct the irregularities of his predecessor. He partially succeeded in that. The situation in agriculture in FBiH is difficult, but only one ministry cannot be responsible for it.

- Agriculture does not depend on just one level of government, on one political party, minister, but on all levels of government and the entire society that should position agriculture and food production in the place it deserves – said Dedić. The main problem of agriculture in FBiH is insufficient investment. The Federation of BiH allocates about 65 million KM annually for agriculture, and 15 to 20 million KM allocated by the cantons. In the region, only Albania invests less than FBiH. EU countries invest up to nine times more in agriculture, writes Patria.
