PARLIAMENT OF BIH SNSD did not support the consideration of abolishing excise duties and customs rates on oil

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – The session of the House of Representatives of the BiH PS has begun, attended by 30 representatives.

Denis Zvizdić, member of the Collegium of the HoR of the BiH PS, proposed that a point be included in the agenda which would request the Council of Ministers of BiH to abolish the customs rate on oil imports, in order to reduce the price of fuel in BiH, and also to stop the price increase linked to the rise in the price of oil and petroleum products. Denis Zvizdić's initiative did not receive entity majority in the first round.

Branislav Borenović and Saša Magazinović proposed to consider the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Excise Duties. This addition also did not receive entity majority from the RS, thus these points were not included on the agenda because SNSD did not support these initiatives.

“I absolutely do not know what needs to be explained to ask the other house to confirm these amendments to abolish excise duties on oil and petroleum products for six months. Prices at petrol stations are approaching 4 KM, and what can be done is to abolish excise duties, which this house has already done, and reduce prices. This is a formal appeal from the HoR to the House of Peoples of the BiH PS, which is delaying and blocking the abolition of excise duties on fuel and providing some relief to citizens and the economy,” said Borenović.

Saša Magazinović said that it is illogical for the House of Peoples of the BiH PS to take 110 days to declare on the law on excise duties. The House of Representatives accepted the abolition of excise duties on March 9.

In response to the statements of Snježana Novaković Bursać, who said that SNSD will support it when convinced that fuel will be cheaper, Magazinović asked who will confirm this and from whom they expect such an analysis.

"Do you live in the same world as your voters? There are no entities, no Serbs, Bosniaks, Croats, and others in this story; you can help citizens, but you have been thinking for 110 days whether you are sure that fuel will be cheaper by 30 or 40 feninga if excise duties are abolished," said Magazinović.

Borenović said that even with the reduction in oil prices, the budgets will remain stable.
