TUZLA, (Patria) - The largest festival for children in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kid's Festival, after 14 years in Sarajevo, began today in Tuzla with a parade of children with artists, an orchestra, and mascots through the very center of the city all the way to the Sports-Cultural-Business Center Mejdan.
In addition to a rich all-day program that includes numerous creative and educational workshops, as well as the Kids stage where celebrities, animators, and mascots from favorite cartoons will perform a fun program, all attendees at Mejdan will also be able to get a free copy of the fifth issue of Kidsinfo, the ultimate guide for parents.
Amela Galešić, the coordinator of this festival, previously told Kidsinfo.ba that after the parade, children will attend the Kids World, which is a combination of workshops, animation, education, and entertainment.
"It is a place where economic entities, non-governmental organizations, schools, embassies, local and international organizations will offer various activities for children starting at 1 PM, while the Kids stage will begin around 4 PM," Galešić explained.
As she said, the slogan of the festival is "The Future I Want", thus aiming to show what kind of future children in Bosnia and Herzegovina want.
Mersiha Imširović, the mother of a nine-year-old girl from Tuzla, said that this is her first time at the Kid's Festival this year.
"I am looking forward to the children from all over BiH socializing," Imširović emphasized.
Some of the participants of this year's Kid's Festival include the Youth Theater Tuzla, Tuzla majorettes, the multiple award-winning choir "Grivice" from Banovići, which has received the highest state awards, EU talent show participant Emina Ajvazovski, and many others.
The most famous children's host in BiH, Elvir Hadžijamaković Lilo, will also host this event, and according to him, the atmosphere in Tuzla is wonderful.
"A big greeting from Tuzla from a Sarajevan who is opening and hosting this wonderful event, Kids Fest Tuzla, which is well-known to all of us from Sarajevo, where a large number of Bosnians and Herzegovinians came for great fun for our little ones. After this Kids parade, we are moving to Mejdan where great fun and workshops are guaranteed," said Lilo.
As many as 11 valuable prizes have been provided for the most original masks at the festival.
The organizers of the Kid's Festival are the Magic Theater Aladin and the license holder of the Festival, Susanna Prahl, who, together with the president of this theater, Enes Hadžiskakić, signed an agreement under which she grants him the right to organize this festival for the next ten years.
The festival is non-profit, and all festival activities are completely free for children.
