Pope outraged: Cardinals paid for luxury with money collected for the poor and sick

Pope Francis is "very outraged, but determined" after leaked documents reveal financial farces in the Vatican, which are contrary to his call for humility in spending and reforms, stated the third man in the Vatican, Monsignor Angelo Becciu, on Wednesday, reports the Patria News Agency.

Following a series of new discoveries, some of them very shocking, showing that some funds intended for the poor and sick were used to finance the luxurious lifestyle of some cardinals, Monsignor Becciu revealed on Twitter what Pope Francis told him: "Let us show serenity and determination".

Earlier, those who could have met him in recent days would have encountered a "confused and dissatisfied Pope," said Beccio, who holds the position of Substitute for General Affairs, a role equivalent to "chief of staff" in other countries.

The secretary of the Italian Episcopal Conference, Monsignor Nunzio Galantino, told TV2000 that the Pope must feel that his trust has been betrayed.
