Pope Francis commented on the massacre in Paris, calling the attack part of World War III, reports Radio Vatican, as carried by the Patria news agency.
In a telephone interview, he said such attacks "are not humane".
-I am with the French, with the families and victims, and I pray for them. I am shocked and saddened. I do not understand, such things are difficult to understand, said Pope Francis.
Asked whether this is the beginning of World War III, Pope Francis replied "this is part of it".
-There is no religious or human justification for such a thing, he said.
