Report of the KS Prosecutor's Office for 2017 Falls, Čomor Criticizes Chief Prosecutor Burzić's Behavior

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The KS Assembly late tonight did not adopt the Report on the work of the KS Prosecutor's Office for 2017, which was withdrawn from the agenda on May 7 because representatives did not want to discuss without the presence of the chief cantonal prosecutor Dalida Burzić. During the discussion on this agenda item, there were 20 representatives in the hall, and in the assembly benches sat the father of the murdered young man Dženan Memić, Muriz Memić.

On May 7, he addressed the representatives to help him in his struggle to learn the truth about his son's death and not to adopt the Report. The Sarajevo Prosecutor's Office handled the case as a traffic accident, then as a murder by an unknown perpetrator, and then reclassified it again as a traffic accident for which Ljubo and Bekrija Seferović are being tried. Memić then informed the representatives that nine prosecutors had been changed on this case, which is not recorded in traffic accident cases.

Burzić attended today's session and discussion and answered representatives' questions.

Representative Bibija Kerla from DF asked Burzić how far the investigation had progressed regarding the case of Dženan Memić, while representative Amar Dovadžija, whose wife Hava died in 2014 at a pedestrian crossing and the convicted Semir Rastoder has still not started serving his prison sentence, asked why prosecutors are always replaced in cases where the main actors are sons of city bosses and why these cases always become complicated.

- The proceedings are being conducted at the Cantonal Court against Ljubo Seferović. As for Dovadžija's question, I would like to know which specific cases those are - replied Burzić.

Representative Eldar Čomor directed sharp criticism at prosecutor Burzić, asking her to respect the representatives in the KS Assembly and to answer questions concretely and without theatrics. Čomor also said that not adopting the Report will not have consequences for the KS Prosecutor's Office, but that it will send a certain message.

Muriz Memić told the Patria agency that this is "the first slap."

- Her inappropriate behavior and the grimaces she made at the assembly podium hurt me more. She even laughed while talking about the Memić case and while representatives were asking her - said Memić.

Incidentally, two prosecutors who worked on the Memić case left the KS Prosecutor's Office. They are Ivana Petković and Meris Ćato.
