Palmer congratulates Komšić on his persistence in keeping BiH on the NATO path

(Patria) - Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić met with Matthew Palmer, US Special Representative for the Western Balkans, on the sidelines of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Discussing the current political situation, the interlocutors touched upon the current state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and stability in the region. Palmer congratulated Chairman Komšić on his persistence in firmly keeping Bosnia and Herzegovina on the path to NATO.

The interlocutors also discussed the initiative to form a customs union of the countries in the region, which would result in improved relations in the region and the living standards of all citizens.
Chairman Komšić thanked Special Representative Palmer for the consistent and clear political support that the US provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina and its path towards Euro-Atlantic integration. He emphasized that he believes the solution to the problems facing our country is primarily NATO membership, followed by European Union membership.

For lasting stability of the countries in the region, it is necessary for all countries that are not yet members to become members of NATO and the European Union.
As for the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chairman Komšić stated that, since the elections last year, this body has been functioning, but that there is certainly plenty of room for improvement in its work and efficiency.
