Palestinian Prime Minister Shtayyeh calls on European Parliament to pressure Israel

(Patria) - Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh called on the European Parliament to pressure Israel to stop the aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.

He also called on the European Parliament to pressure Israel to stop all attempts to displace Palestinians, to open the crossings leading to the Gaza Strip, and to allow the entry of medical and humanitarian aid and fuel to meet the needs of the people there, as well as to restore electricity and water supplies.

Shtayyeh said this during a meeting in Ramallah with a delegation from the European Parliament.
He said that Netanyahu's government and previous governments are waging war against all Palestinian
components, including land, people, and authority in Gaza and the West Bank, adding that these governments are working to systematically destroy the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital, while pushing Gaza off the national and geographical scene.

He added that the West Bank is not spared from the occupation's aggression, including daily incursions into Palestinian areas, killings and arrests, incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque and attacks on worshippers and pilgrims in Jerusalem, while intensifying settlement expansion through annexation of more land and arming settlers to enable more killings.

Shtayyeh said that it is necessary to work on creating a political path under international, multilateral sponsorship to find a just solution that includes all Palestinian territories.
