Palestinian Ambassador to the UN: Only Washington Stands in the Way of Palestinian Statehood

(Patria) - Palestinian Ambassador to the United Nations Riyad Mansour said in an interview with Al Arabiya that the United States obstructs the "legal right" of Palestinians to statehood.

"While almost the entire world advocates for the admission of the State of Palestine as a member, only the United States stands in the way," Mansour told Al Arabiya.

"The more recognitions we have, the more waves from European countries. Perhaps the wave I mentioned in Asia. So then nothing will remain in terms of grouping nations - Western Europe, the majority that recognizes the state, Eastern Europe, all of them recognize the state, all of Latin America and the Caribbean, all Africans, all Asians, then what is the logic that the United States continues to block us?"

Mansour said this on the show of Riza Khan, which will air this week, along with a story about Israeli Moshe Lavi, whose son-in-law has been a hostage of Hamas in the Gaza Strip for 250 days.
