Palestinian Authorities: Strong Narcotics Found in US Flour in Gaza

(Patria) - Palestinian authorities in Gaza announced on Friday that narcotic tablets were found in bags of flour that arrived from US humanitarian shipments.

According to the government media office in Gaza, it is the strong analgesic Oxycodone, which Palestinians discovered inside bags of flour distributed through US aid points.

“There is a possibility that these tablets were intentionally crushed or dissolved within the flour itself, which represents a direct attack on public health,” the statement warned.

The Gaza media office accuses Israel of this act, calling it a “heinous crime” aimed at spreading addiction and destroying Palestinian social fabric from within.

“This is part of the ongoing Israeli genocide against Palestinians,” the statement said, adding that Israel uses drugs as a “soft weapon in a dirty war against civilians.”

Israel recently established four distribution points for humanitarian aid in southern and central Gaza, which according to Israeli media is an attempt to forcibly displace the population from northern to southern Gaza. This mechanism has faced opposition from the international community and the United Nations, as it bypasses established UN channels for aid delivery.

According to data from the Gaza Ministry of Health, since May 27, Israeli forces have killed at least 549 Palestinians and wounded more than 4,000 near aid centers and food trucks under UN auspices.

The Israeli military has been waging a brutal offensive on Gaza since October 2023, rejecting all international calls for a ceasefire. So far, more than 56,300 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, Anadolu reports.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants in November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. At the same time, Israel faces a genocide charge before the International Court of Justice.
