Palestinian Community in BiH Hosts Welcome Reception for Ambassador Silvia Abu Laban

(Patria) - The Palestinian Community in BiH Association hosted a welcome reception for the recently appointed Ambassador of the State of Palestine to BiH, Silvia Abu Laban.

The reception was held in a cordial atmosphere that reflected a strong sense of national belonging and a commitment to strengthening mutual cooperation and joint action.

The President of the Palestinian Community in BiH, Majed Maarouf, extended words of welcome to Ambassador Laban, wishing her success in carrying out her national and diplomatic mission.



On this occasion, he emphasized the importance of continuous coordination and close cooperation between the Embassy of the State of Palestine and the Palestinian community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order to serve the Palestinian national cause and the Palestinian people.

Maarouf stated that the Palestinian community places all its capacities in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the ambassador's disposal, in support of her diplomatic efforts.

He noted that the continuous support that Bosnia and Herzegovina provides to the Palestinian people confirms that the relations between the two countries and two brotherly peoples are deeply rooted, historically strong, and lasting.

Ambassador Abu Laban expressed sincere gratitude, pride, and respect towards the members of the Palestinian community in BiH, conveying greetings from President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian leadership.

She emphasized that her arrival is not only in the capacity of an ambassador with an official title, but also as a representative of Palestinian women who believe that true diplomacy begins with people – with mutual trust, sincere partnership, and close cooperation with Palestinian communities that represent the first line of defense of the Palestinian narrative in the world.



She stressed that the role of the Palestinian community is reflected in active engagement and building humanitarian and political bridges that strengthen the position of the Palestinian national cause.

She also highlighted that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a country that knows the price of war, the experience of state reconstruction, and the importance of justice, which further increases the responsibility in representing Palestine as a people striving for freedom, dignity, and the right to life.

Finally, Ambassador Laban confirmed that the upcoming period will be marked by a high level of coordination and joint cooperation, with the aim of serving the Palestinian people and strengthening their national presence in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
