(Patria) - The Palestinian community in Bosnia and Herzegovina condemns the decision of the Israeli occupation authorities to keep the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex closed during the entire Eid al-Fitr and after it, which represents an escalation that violates freedom of religion and infringes upon the religious rights of the Palestinian people.
This decision comes at a time when the current month of Ramadan is the first holy month since the occupation of East Jerusalem in 1967 in which Palestinians are unable to perform Friday prayers at the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
This year, a dangerous precedent has also been recorded, as the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque have been left without worshippers on the night of Laylat al-Qadr for the first time since 1967, reflecting the extent of restrictions and measures that prevent access to holy sites.
The Palestinian community in Bosnia and Herzegovina affirms its strong rejection of these policies and calls on the international community to take responsibility and exert pressure to stop these violations, ensure freedom of religion, and protect Christian and Islamic holy sites in the occupied Palestinian territories.
