(Patria) - Pakistan announced that it has begun retaliation after accusing India of targeting three of its military bases with missiles fired from fighter jets.
Pakistani military spokesman Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated that India fired six surface-to-air missiles early this morning targeting Nur Khan, Murid, and Shorkot, three of Pakistan's most important military bases.
Otherwise, the Pakistani army spokesman claims that India fired ballistic missiles that landed on Indian territory, announcing this in a surprise statement on national television at 1:50 AM local time on Saturday, without providing details to support this claim, Reuters reported.
"I want to convey to you the shocking news that India has fired six ballistic missiles from Adampur.
One of the ballistic missiles hit Adampur, and the rest of the five missiles in the area of Indian Punjab in Amritsar," said the army spokesman in his short video statement.
The District Commissioner of Amritsar said in a text message between Friday and Saturday:
"Do not panic. The siren is sounding because we are on red alert. Do not panic, as before, keep the lights off, stay away from windows. We will notify you when we are ready to resume power supply."
