SYSTEM FAILURE Banks, media, airlines hit by global outage linked to Windows computers

(Patria) - CrowdStrike, a major cybersecurity company, is down after the latest update. Users worldwide are reporting an error on the platform. Windows users are particularly affected. The outage occurred globally.

On Reddit, a user named BradW-CS posted: "We have widespread reports of BSODs on Windows hosts, occurring on multiple sensor versions. Investigating the cause. TA will be published soon."
Many companies that rely on computer work and use Windows systems are unable to operate. Planes across the US and Australia have been grounded. Banks and stores are also affected, reports The Guardian.

"We are investigating an issue affecting users' ability to access various Microsoft 365 applications and services," Microsoft stated.

US-based Frontier Airlines briefly suspended all flights on Thursday due to a major outage on Microsoft networks, reports The New York Times.

TV and radio stations are also either down or operating with difficulty, reports ABC News.

Due to technical issues and internet difficulties, N1 BiH is also unable to broadcast regular content.

Australia's National Cyber Security Coordinator Michelle McGuinness posted on platform X, saying the issue is being investigated, but there is no information so far that it is a cybersecurity incident.

According to Digit.in, the problem arose due to the security system used by Windows, causing a global issue.

Sky News is also not broadcasting. "We apologize for the interruption to this broadcast. We hope to resume Sky News transmission soon," reads the screen.

Ryanair issued a statement urging passengers to arrive at airports three hours before their flight.

US ABC reports that American Airlines, United, and Delta have requested the US Federal Aviation Administration to "ground all flights globally."
