This Issue is of Historical Importance for Bosniaks: Pay Tax on Land You Own in RS

Bosniaks who do not verify ownership of property they own in the Bosnian entity Republika Srpska, and who do not pay annual tax on it, could forever lose their land plots, experts warned, after the Law on Surveying and Cadastre of RS and the Law on Real Estate Tax began to be applied in RS, writes the BH news agency Patria (NAP).

Authorities in RS are intensively verifying land plots in this entity. Commissions in the field are surveying plots which they are entering into a unified database. It is of great importance for Bosniaks to respond to the commission's call, and to be in the field with experts during land verification, so that they are not deprived of property they previously possessed.

On this occasion, a round table will be held in Banja Luka on January 28, which will discuss the importance of preserving Bosniak property in the territory of RS. The round table is organized by the Vakuf Directorate and the Mufti of Banja Luka, under the auspices of Reis-ul-ulema Husein ef. Kavazović and Ramiz Salkić, Vice-President of RS.

The Islamic Community in BiH has maximally allocated its resources to help Bosniaks preserve their property in RS more easily.

Dr. Senaid Zajimović, Director of the Vakuf Directorate, previously told Patria that it is the duty of every Bosniak to take care of their property, because a nation that owns land manages the state.

The amount of tax to be paid on land plots in RS is very low, and it is a practice in all modern European countries. This practice will have to be implemented in the Federation of BiH as well, writes Patria.
