OV Živinice: Šljivić sought medical help after attack by Ramić, who claims he did not address him

Municipal Councilor Mirsad Šljivić (SUND) was verbally attacked by Hasan Ramić, after which Šljivić also sought medical help, reports the Patria news agency.

- Namely, at yesterday's session of the Municipal Council, members of the Municipal Election Commission were also elected, and Hasan Ramić is one of the members, having previously held that position. However, Ramić does not have a higher education degree, which the Election Law requires in municipalities with more than 1,000 voters. However, in the public call that was published, an amendment was added stating that a member of the Election Commission may also have a secondary education degree, which was done so that Ramić could be elected.

Šljivić, who is a member of the Appointments Commission, warned that this was a violation of the law, but the councilors ignored this, and an incident occurred during the break.

- During my presentation, I did not mention anyone's name, but spoke about the law, but during the break Ramić approached me and told me to stop mentioning his name, and that if I continued, I would never again have the opportunity to speak from the podium. However, after the break, I informed the Municipal Council about the threats I received, but Nail Jusić, the deputy chairman, literally ignored all of this - pointed out Šljivić, an internist by profession, who did not even go to work today due to stress.

One councilor from the SDP also requested a break, but Jusić did not want to grant it, and in the end Ramić was elected as one of the members of the Election Commission. The Central Election Commission could have a lot of work in this case, but Šljivić fears that they too will ignore the contentious issues.

- There is chaos in Živinice. Almost everyone is in power, and there is almost no opposition. But, it is obvious that the state does not care about this either. I am disappointed, because as an individual I cannot do much - pointed out Šljivić.

The Patria editorial office received a call from Ramić, who denied Šljivić's words and stated that he is not a member of any party.

- I was at the Council session briefly and only greeted some colleagues. I did not address Mr. Šljivić at all. I only heard this morning that he went to the doctor. I am not a member of any party and I will never be anyone's servant - said Ramić.
