The second Sarajevo Ramadan Festival will be held from June 17 to July 17, writes the BH News Agency Patria. The official opening ceremony will be held at the Yellow Bastion.
The festival aims to promote beautiful Ramadan customs, Islamic culture, and art. Created by the Sarajevo Navigator Foundation and the Baščaršija Zone of Enhanced Business (ZUP) to complement Sarajevo's tourist offer.
The month of Ramadan will be filled with numerous exhibitions, lectures, concerts, as well as film screenings that will be held as part of the Festival.
The programs within the Sarajevo Ramadan Festival are part of the project “PHOENIX – Culture for the Future”, financed by the EU and implemented by the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo, ZUP Baščaršija, and the Sarajevo Navigator Foundation.
The project “PHOENIX – Culture for the Future” lasts 18 months and is part of the “Sarajevo 2014” program within the commemoration of the centenary of the start of World War I, with the aim of sending a message of peace, reconciliation, and solidarity from Sarajevo to the world.
