Exhibition of Artworks Opened at the Youth Center in Gorica

In the premises of the Youth Center in Gorica, under the auspices of the Centar Municipality, an exhibition of artworks by participants of the Art School operating in the Youth Center in Gorica was opened on Thursday, December 8, 2016. The exhibition was opened by the head of the Art School, Aida Filipović, and the director of the Sarajevo Cultural Center, Senad Bostandžić, reports Patria.

The opening of the exhibition titled "My World" was enhanced by a cultural and artistic program performed by participants of the guitar, piano, acting, and dance schools, as well as the Literary Club for Youth, who on this occasion contributed and demonstrated the knowledge gained during their attendance of free schools at the center. Guests at the exhibition also included students from the First Gymnasium, specifically participants of the creative writing section with the professor of Bosnian language and literature, Damir Šabotić.

More than 30 artworks by participants of the art section are on display. The paintings were created using various techniques, and the motifs ranged from still life to portraits.

- The Art School is a project that has been realized for many years at the Youth Center, and its goal is to encourage and develop the individual inclinations and talents of each person, as well as to guide young people. Participants use various techniques such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastels, gouache, ink, pencil, and the most frequently chosen motifs are landscapes, still life, and nudes, and sometimes abstract expressionism. Exhibitions are an excellent opportunity for young people to present their talent, said Bostandžić.

The exhibition is open until the end of the month, and interested citizens can view the artworks at the premises of the Youth Center in Gorica.
