26th Sarajevo Film Festival Opens with Pjer Žalica's Film 'Focus, Grandma'

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The red carpet of the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival, despite the pandemic conditions, was still festive. Although without an audience and citizens, the most famous BiH actors walked the red carpet. This year's edition of the 26th SFF opened with Pjer Žalica's film "Focus, Grandma" which viewers could watch via the official online platform.

"On our platform ondemand.sff.ba, carefully selected films can be watched, as well as other content such as talks with authors, Masterclasses, and other encounters that make the difference between standard platforms and a true film festival. There is no doubt that some positive effects of this year's SFF will remain with us after the crisis as good practices to be adopted. So, this year too, we have reasons to celebrate," emphasized SFF Director Mirsad Purivatra.

This year's SFF program, in 14 festival sections, features 187 films from 56 countries. As many as 44 films will have their world premieres at our festival, and eight films will have their international premieres.

BiH actor and professor at the Academy of Performing Arts, Admir Glamočak, said that filming "Focus, Grandma" was fun.

"It was interesting for me in the way that it was a role I hadn't played before, some kind of a henpecked husband, and I'm glad it turned out well," said Glamočak.

Glamočak expressed regret that the SFF is taking place without an audience in cinemas, but that there will still be screenings in Mostar with the presence of 100 people.
