Most advanced laboratories for marijuana production discovered in Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Police officers of the Department for Combating Narcotic Drug Abuse, by implementing operational-tactical measures and actions for the realization of the operation codenamed "LABOS", based on the Order of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, and with the consent and under the supervision of the duty prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, searched the house used by E.B. in the area of Ilidža municipality on Monday. On that occasion, 350 stalks of a plant resembling the Cannabis plant were seized, which E.B., together with another person whose identity is known to the police officers, planted and cultivated for the production and sale of the narcotic drug marijuana.

An equipped laboratory for "indoor" cultivation of the Cannabis plant (separators, filters, thermostats, irrigation, fans, distribution boards with fuses, timers and clocks, lighting fixtures, etc.) was seized, which was equipped for the cultivation of the Cannabis plant and the production of narcotic drugs, 2 boxes with dry herbaceous matter resembling the narcotic drug marijuana, one grinder, one bag with white matter resembling the narcotic drug amphetamine, 6 PVC bottles with chemicals for promoting the growth of plants grown indoors, one pistol, 4 bullets, 6 works of art originating from criminal acts.

Also, in the area of Ilidža municipality, a search of person A.P. was carried out, and on that occasion, one PVC bag with dry herbaceous matter resembling the narcotic drug marijuana and a mobile phone were found and seized. During the search of the house and garage in the area of Ilijaš municipality, which A.P. uses with a person who is being sought, parts for an "indoor" cultivation laboratory for the Cannabis plant were seized from A.P.: 81 separators, 416 PVC pots, 4 cylindrical air filters, thermostats, 2 self-supporting fans, 72 electrical transformers, 4 plywood boxes with fans, one built-in fan, 51 lampshades with electrical sockets, 21 spotlights, one hot air gun, several tens of meters of electrical cables of various sizes, 24 pieces of flexible ventilation hoses of different diameters, 2 keys for a cylinder lock, etc.

Due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they have committed criminal offenses under Article 238, Paragraph 2 (Unauthorized Production and Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs), Article 239, Paragraph 3 (Possession and Enabling of Narcotic Drug Use) of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Article 74, Paragraph 1, Point a) of the Law on Narcotic Drug Abuse, Illicit Trafficking and Precursors of Sarajevo Canton, E.B. and A.P. were deprived of their liberty and, after criminal processing, handed over to the jurisdiction of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton, while intensive searches are underway for the third person.

The Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton notes that these are the most modern and largest laboratories and laboratory equipment found so far in the Sarajevo Canton area, with a value of approximately 250,000 KM, including the seized narcotic drugs.

Through their actions, police officers prevented the mentioned persons from further production, sale, and consumption of narcotic drugs.
