The Council of Ministers of BiH took note of the Information on the visit of the Russian Federation's inspection regarding the export of fruits and vegetables and supported the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations which, in cooperation with the competent entity and Brčko District of BiH institutions, is undertaking activities to rectify the identified shortcomings as soon as possible, it was announced from the Council of Ministers, reports the Patria News Agency.
Russian inspectors determined that BiH has the potential to increase the volume of fruit and vegetable supplies to the Russian Federation. However, it was concluded that a unified centralized system for ensuring phytosanitary control during the export of goods of high phytosanitary risk to the Russian Federation is lacking.
Appropriate measures have been requested to improve the phytosanitary control system in the production and preparation of products intended for export to the Russian Federation, the statement reads.
