Whitesnake concert in Sarajevo cancelled, KS Government had no costs

(Patria) - Following the official information from the management of the world band Whitesnake about the cancellation of the rest of their European tour, during which the band was supposed to perform in Sarajevo's Skenderija on July 19, Avalon Production – which is behind three cancelled concerts – expressed regret over the cancellation of this musical spectacle and announced refunds for all fans who purchased tickets.

“Dear rockers and fans of Whitesnake, like you, we are taken aback by the latest information from David Coverdale and Whitesnake that they are unable to hold the remaining part of their European tour, as we finalized the details for the concert at the Tašmajdan stadium, which was almost sold out, until last night, and were in the midst of a media campaign and preparations for the concert in Sarajevo. Our regret is even greater because, in addition to the previously cancelled four, three more of these seven concerts that have been cancelled are organized by Avalon Production – Belgrade, Skopje, and Sarajevo.

For now, we have no information about whether there will be alternative dates for the cancelled concerts, and all fans who bought tickets for the Sarajevo concert will be able to get a refund at all kupikartu.ba sales points starting Tuesday, July 12, 2022.

Avalon Production apologizes to all fans and thanks them for their support in these difficult times when we are absolutely powerless because the health of David Coverdale and the band members comes first.”

The Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton, following the official statement from the band Whitesnake regarding the cancellation of the remainder of their farewell European tour, and in response to this morning's media inquiries, informs the public that the Government of Sarajevo Canton had no prior costs related to the organization of this concert.

“As we announced earlier, the Government of Sarajevo Canton committed to covering the costs of renting our halls Skenderija and Zetra for the needs of holding this concert and Sting's concert in October. Given that the Whitesnake concert was supposed to be in July, the Government had no prior costs incurred on this basis,” explained the Minister of Economy of Sarajevo Canton, Adnan Delić.

He added that Sting's planned concert remains scheduled for October, and that the Canton Government is already planning to bring major musical acts in the coming period.

“We have offers to support the organization of concerts by major world acts in Sarajevo, we will accept them, and I believe that we will soon have the concerts we have long awaited in our city,” announced Minister Delić.

The Government of Sarajevo Canton expresses its deep regret over the cancellation of this concert, as well as the deteriorating health condition of David Coverdale, the frontman of this group.
