Father of arrested BiH student in Turkey: We hope Samed will be free soon

BiH student Samed Nadarević has been in custody in Silivri, Turkey for more than two months, after Turkish authorities arrested him following an attempted military coup in the country in mid-July, writes NAP.

Nadarević, originally from Cazin, is an architecture student at a state university in Istanbul, and a scholarship holder of the Republic of Turkey, but he used an apartment owned by an organization of Fethullah Gülen, whom Turkish authorities believe is behind the attempted military coup.

According to information available to the BiH Consulate in Turkey, Nadarević is the only BiH citizen arrested after the failed military coup.

Mujo Nadarević, the father of the arrested Samed Nadarević, told NAP that he is in constant contact with the BiH consulate in Turkey, but that neither of them has much information about Samed's case.

- We are worried about our son - Nadarević told NAP.

- He has been studying in Turkey for four or five years. He has never had any problems. He is even a scholarship holder of the Republic of Turkey. We hope that all this will end well and that the authorities will realize that there has been a big misunderstanding in Samed's case - said the father of the arrested student.

The Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is responsible for the extradition of our citizens, has not yet commented on this case, writes NAP.
