While the search is ongoing for 25-year-old Sanjin Sefić, who killed students Selma Agić (1995) and Edita Malkoč (1996) with his car on a pedestrian crossing on Monday evening, Oslobođenje has learned that the same car was previously involved in an accident, reports the Patria News Agency.
At that time, Sanjin's father, Jasmin, was behind the wheel. Proceedings were conducted against him before the Municipal Court in Sarajevo for a serious criminal offense against public traffic safety, and Jasmin Sefić was acquitted.
The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo appealed this verdict, but, as Azra Bavčić, spokesperson for this judicial institution, told us, there is still no response.
The car is owned by Raiffeisen leasing.
Let us remind you that Sefić, after hitting Selma and Edita with a Golf VI, threw the unfortunate girls 30-35 meters. Selma died at the scene, and Edita died somewhat later in the hospital, where they tried to provide her with medical assistance.
Police confirmed last night that Sefić had crossed the border and fled to Serbia, and the search for him is still ongoing.
