Salem Hatibović (1959) and Nihad Trnka (1992), suspected of the criminal offense of terrorism, in connection with the burning of the BiH Presidency building during the protests on February 7, will be released tomorrow after spending a month in custody, it has been confirmed for the Patria News Agency (NAP).
Namely, Salem Hatibović's lawyer, Senad Bilić, told Patria that the one-month custody period for Hatibović and Trnka expires on Monday, April 7, but due to the fact that tomorrow is the last working day, they will likely be released. The BiH Prosecutor's Office has not, as far as he knows, filed a request to extend their custody so far.
- They will be subject to restrictive measures. They are still suspects and will continue to be treated as such in the investigation. They will not be able to travel, they must report to the police regularly, etc. But, for now, it is important that they will be able to defend themselves from freedom – said Bilić.
We remind you that, within the investigation conducted by the BiH Prosecutor's Office, along with the Federal Police Administration and other police agencies in BiH, suspects Hatibović and Trnka were identified as persons who set fire to the BiH Presidency building and the Archives of BiH, vehicles, and surrounding facilities, causing great damage to these institutions and destroying significant archival material from the history of BiH.
