(Patria) - SIPA police officers handed over the suspect Ćatić Adnan, born in 1988 in Zenica, to the BiH Prosecutor's Office in the afternoon.
This suspect is under investigation and is accused of participating in foreign battlefields in Syria and Iraq, where he operated within the structures of the so-called "ISIL", which has been declared a terrorist organization by the UN Security Council.
The suspect is accused of joining the "ISIL" structures at the age of about 25, and spent about 10 years in the Middle East, being one of the suspects with the longest stay in the mentioned area.
After questioning the suspect, the acting prosecutor from the Terrorism Department of the BiH Prosecutor's Office will submit a proposal to the BiH Court for the determination of pre-trial detention, among other reasons because the suspect has been unavailable to BiH judicial bodies for a longer period.
The BiH Prosecutor's Office and partner institutions and law enforcement agencies in BiH and abroad are carrying out activities aimed at locating, extraditing, and prosecuting several individuals who have stayed in foreign battlefields in the past period, with the aim of their deportation and criminal prosecution in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
