Suspects in Sky Case 'Kamen' Questioned at BiH Prosecutor's Office

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Following arrests and searches targeting a number of individuals from the areas of Busovača, Zenica, Tešanj, Maglaj, Žepče, Sanski Most, and Banja Luka, within the operation codenamed "Kamen" (Stone), aimed at identifying and prosecuting individuals suspected of organized crime related to the unauthorized trafficking of drugs and weapons, as well as money laundering, the prosecutor's office and police agencies are continuing investigative activities.

Some of the suspects were questioned at SIPA, and some suspects were brought before the acting prosecutor, who will question them and then decide on further actions in the case.

SIPA, the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as the Ministries of Internal Affairs of KS, SBK, ZDK, and USK participated in the operation, with support from OSA BiH.

Individuals suspected within the investigation are accused of continuous smuggling of large quantities of various narcotic drugs, including "speed," "marijuana-skunk," and "ecstasy" from BiH to EU countries, as well as from Western European countries to Bosnia and Herzegovina, which they also smuggled into Croatia, mostly to the Dalmatian and Istrian regions, leading to international cooperation with partner institutions in Croatia (USKOK) within the case.

Also, the suspected individuals are under investigation for smuggling a larger quantity of weapons from BiH to EU countries for sale on the illegal market and for use in committing criminal offenses. Among the suspects is an individual from the Zenica area, repeatedly known to law enforcement agencies in BiH, prosecuted for illegal drug and weapons trafficking.

Given that evidence has been gathered that the suspects invested money obtained from criminal activities into motor vehicles, among other things, searches of certain rent-a-car companies were also carried out.

After questioning the suspects, the acting prosecutor will make a decision on the proposal for custody or prohibition measures, as well as further actions in the case.
