Suspected of double murder: Emir Selimović ordered into one-month detention

(Patria) - Emir Selimović, suspected of a double murder in Kalesija, has been ordered into one-month detention by the Cantonal Court in Tuzla.

Detention has been ordered for Selimović due to well-founded suspicion that he killed his wife Inela and thirteen-year-old son on February 12th by suffocation while they were asleep.

Prosecutor Slaven Koval presented details of the crime, emphasizing that Selimović would still be prepared to flee, as he intentionally evaded law enforcement and took all measures to conceal his escape after committing the murders.

Based on the criminal offense he is charged with and the manner in which it was committed, Selimović faces the maximum prison sentence. He refused to testify.

The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina does not have a life sentence, as its Criminal Code provides for a maximum sentence of 45 years in prison.
