Sharp Reaction from DF: They Are Foisting a Cuckoo's Egg on Us, We Were the First to Stand by Ćamil Duraković!

Although October is still far off, at least calendar-wise, the pre-election party "dirty dance," tricks, and false information – when it comes to the Democratic Front – have already begun, announced the Democratic Front, as reported by the Patria news agency.

Party schemers, especially in the headquarters of the current government (though "allies" on the left are not immune to this type of spin) have already enlisted the media and their field cadres to weaken the positions of the Democratic Front, or at the very least, are already designating the Democratic Front as the main culprit if certain election "kitchens" do not go through.

We cannot remain silent about the fabricated message sent to the media that DF has its own candidate for the mayor of Srebrenica municipality, alongside the alive and well Ćamil Duraković, whom we clearly stated a few months ago, and the Party Presidency confirmed, that we would support only him for the position of municipal mayor.

Let us recall, we said then that we would support him "no matter whose candidate he is or if he runs as an independent candidate." We did this at a time when the "largest party among Bosniaks" was actively working to undermine the authority of that same Duraković. It is known how, and it is known how it all ended. So, who is interested in foisting a cuckoo's egg on DF?

On the other hand, we have seemingly benign cases of "unsubstantiated statements" (that we have already reached agreements, though we have not) from representatives of political options with whom we are still in negotiations about where we might eventually run jointly for the positions of municipal mayors and city mayors. Thus, negotiations are not yet concluded, and DF's basic guiding principle in them is the positions of our municipal and cantonal organizations, which we will fully respect. Whether it is about Zenica, Tuzla, Bihać, or any other place.

Of course, we take into account the option we ideologically represent and defend. We are aware of the dangerous rise of the right wing and nationalism, and we are aware of which political options we can and must talk to on that line, and which we cannot. However, in all this, we will not yield to any pressure from whichever side it comes, because it is naturally considered that we are a young party and do not have the developed infrastructure like some others.

That is why we have more and more members and sympathizers with whom we are building that same infrastructure with our own strength, and we will fully uphold the principles that attracted supporters and advocates of our policies. And when it comes to the upcoming local elections, we have stated countless times, our principle is:

Let us choose the best, let us choose the untainted, let us choose moral people, citizens, and neighbors! Otherwise, any other solution will only prolong the agony in which both the state and society find themselves, announced the Democratic Front.
