Ostojić satisfied with quick police response: The Sun journalist is a liar, his place is in the toilet

A researcher for the British Sun claims he travelled from Turkey to Paris without showing a single document. The part concerning his passage through Croatia is particularly interesting, where he claims he hid from border police in the train's toilet, reports the Patria news agency.

Emile Ghessen claims that, partly due to poor controls and partly due to his cunning, he travelled from Turkey to Paris without showing a single document.

The Ministry of the Interior claims otherwise, and the Croatian Minister of the Interior, Ranko Ostojić, commented on the case on his Facebook page.

"I am glad when the police quickly find liars... so-called professional journalists... and catch them lying... about hiding in the toilet... which is where he belongs... as does the newspaper that employs him...", Ostojić wrote.

The journalist was also denied yesterday by the police directorate.

"The Police Directorate strongly denies part of the text published on the web portal of the British newspaper The Sun, in which it was stated that the newspaper's journalist passed through the Republic of Croatia without border control being carried out on him at any point by the Croatian police.

Namely, these are false and inaccurate claims because the Croatian border police recorded Emile Pierre Ghessen on 23.11.2015 at 14:10 hours at the Tovarnik railway border crossing upon entry into the Republic of Croatia, while on 24.11. at 17:20 hours he was recorded at the Zagreb airport border crossing (ZL Pleso) upon exit from the Republic of Croatia.

As proof of this, we are also publishing a scan of the passport made during the border check. The presentation of such false and malicious claims, which damage not only the reputation of the Croatian police but also portray the Republic of Croatia as an unsafe country, is condemnable", the denial states, reports Index.
