Person who stayed on Syrian battlefield deported to BiH

(Patria) - A person with initials I. Ć. (1995), suspected of criminal offenses of organizing a terrorist group, illegally forming and joining foreign paramilitary or police formations, has been transported to Bosnia and Herzegovina and is in custody, the BiH Prosecutor's Office announced.

"In accordance with the international obligations of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially UN Security Council Resolution No. 2396 and other related resolutions, and the additional protocol of the Council of Europe to the Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism, which Bosnia and Herzegovina has committed to respect and implement based on its membership in the United Nations and the Council of Europe, as well as membership in the Anti-Terrorist Coalition, the BiH Prosecutor's Office, in cooperation with the BiH Border Police, the BiH State Investigation and Protection Agency, the BiH Ministry of Security, the BiH Intelligence-Security Agency, the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs, in coordination and cooperation with the Government of the United States of America and the Embassy of the United States of America in Sarajevo, has carried out a series of activities that resulted in the transfer of a BiH citizen from the Syrian battlefield against whom the BiH Prosecutor's Office is conducting an investigation for the criminal offenses of Organizing a terrorist group," the BiH Prosecutor's Office announced.

An international warrant was issued for this person by order of the BiH Court, and a decision on detention was made against him, and he was taken to the Detention Unit of the BiH Court by officers of the BiH Court Police, and criminal proceedings will continue against him in accordance with the law.
