Charlie Hebdo founder accuses: Magazine editor responsible for attack on editorial office

Journalist Henri Roussel (80), one of the founders of the Parisian weekly satirical magazine „Charlie Hebdo", has blamed Patrick Charbonnier, the magazine's editor-in-chief, for the attack on the editorial office in which 12 people were killed, including Charbonnier himself, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Roussel accuses Charbonnier of publishing provocative cartoons that led to the deaths of ten editorial staff members and two police officers, in the attack that occurred on 7 January this year.

Roussel spoke to the magazine "Nouvel Observateur". He said that the editorial office had received numerous threats as early as 2011, after the magazine published cartoons of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. Despite this, Roussel said, Charbonnier continued to publish provocative content. Roussel stated that Charbonnier dragged the entire team along with him, reports NAP.
