(Patria) - The Municipal Court in Sarajevo today acquitted Asim Sarajlić, Sabahudin Delalić, and Muhamed Šehović in a first-instance verdict, who were accused of giving gifts and other benefits.
Asim Sarajlić, Sabahudin Delalić, and Muhamed Šehović were charged with arranging a meeting with delegate Velid Tvrtković for the Election Assembly of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) between February 20 and 25, 2020, before the scheduled internal elections for the president of the Cantonal Organization of SDA Sarajevo.
As stated in the indictment, they promised Tvrtković, using their positions in the SDA, that they would employ his wife in one of the institutions where SDA cadres hold leadership positions, if he cast his vote for their candidate for the mentioned position in those elections.
The main evidence of the Prosecution was an audio recording published on his Facebook profile by the Mayor of Novo Sarajevo Municipality, Semir Efendić, who was one of the candidates for election.
Witnesses during the main hearing included Semir Efendić, Alma Čolo, Dževad Mahmutović, Velid Tvrtković who made the recording, and experts Vahidin Đaltur and Mladen Stupar.
The trial began at the end of August 2022.
