Funds Secured for Elections: Budget for 2020 Adopted

(Patria) - The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted the budget for 2020 at today's session, confirmed the Minister of Finance Vjekoslav Bevanda.

In his address to the public, he said that the atmosphere at the Council of Ministers today was "good", revealing that slightly over four million has been allocated for the local elections to be held at the end of this year.

Bevanda reiterated that this ministry had prepared the budget for the second time, but the budget framework is as planned, with savings made wherever possible.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) had previously postponed the local elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina to November 15, because the funds for holding the elections were not secured.

BiH has been 'living' on temporary financing since the beginning of the year.
