At least eight people were wounded after a shooting in front of a mosque in the French city of Avignon, reports the Patria news agency.
Two attackers opened fire with a pistol on worshippers as they were leaving evening prayers.
Four people were wounded in front of the mosque, while another four were wounded in a residential building near the mosque.
Among the wounded is a seven-year-old child. The police currently have no information on whether this is a terrorist attack, and French media report that it may be a conflict between two youth groups.
