AFR BiH are the only ones participating in the fight against terrorism, and their members are unprotected in their own country

A press conference was held today at the Ministry of Defence of BiH regarding the murder of two members of the AFR BiH in Rajlovac last night, reports the news agency Patria.

Deputy Minister of Defence Emir Suljagić, speaking in his personal capacity, said that it is more than obvious that we have a problem that must be called by its real name, and that is terrorism.

This country has overcome much greater enemies and obstacles than terrorism, ideologies and a culture of death that do not belong in this country. The AFR BiH will never back down from anyone again. They caught us unprepared for the first time, not through our fault. We will undertake a whole series of measures to protect the AFR BiH, our people, resources and locations, said Suljagić.

He reminded that the state of BiH is a member of the global world coalition against ISIL, and the AFR BiH are the main instrument of our country in that coalition.

- The AFR BiH have no instrument to protect their troops outside of barracks. It is paradoxical that we are sending the ninth rotation to Afghanistan, we have had no casualties so far, and two of our men are killed literally on their doorstep, because we have no instruments in this country to protect our people outside of barracks.

I am speaking in my own name. The security agencies have failed. We are the only institution from this country participating in the war against terrorism, but unfortunately, we were not informed about anything, and we should have been, Suljagić pointed out, adding that if something like this had happened in Afghanistan, the attacker would have been killed immediately, but in BiH, members of the AFR BiH do not have that right.

The other Deputy Minister of Defence, Boris Jerinić, said that it is obvious that there was a lack of coordination between security agencies, but that this is not a matter for the MoD of BiH.

Regarding the messages that after Paris, ISIL will attack BiH, among other places, Jerinić said that he is only aware of this through social networks.

- I don't know anything further, there is a lack of coordination, there is a lack of information. I hope that today, after everything that has befallen us, it will become clear to everyone in BiH that we have a common problem, and that we should solve it together. When it comes to the qualification of this criminal offense, we are not the first to say that it is terrorism. I remind you, SIPA also stated the same thing, said Jerinić.
