(Patria) - Donald Trump at the head of the USA will spur a new rise of the right in Europe, believes Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

The Hungarian nationalist prime minister, a long-time supporter of Trump, expects a "golden age" in relations between the USA and Hungary during Trump's term, despite a warning from the Hungarian central bank that Trump's announced tariffs on the EU will harm the Hungarian economy.

- Even the sun will shine differently in Brussels. A new president in the USA, a large faction of patriots in Brussels, great enthusiasm - Orban said.

Incidentally, Patriots for Europe is a new right-wing political group in the European Parliament, founded in June 2024. This group, led by the French National Rally, is the third largest in the European Parliament with 86 MEPs.

- Therefore, the great attack can begin. With this, I am launching the second phase of the offensive aimed at occupying Brussels - Orban said at a press conference yesterday.

Orban, who criticizes European sanctions against Russia and has nurtured close relations with Moscow since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, says that the EU is in crisis because it cannot ensure prosperity for its citizens, cannot stop illegal migration, nor take care of its security.

- We in Hungary are in opposition to the system in Brussels, which has been occupied by a left-liberal oligarchy. In the European elections, we have approached a real opportunity for a new right-wing majority that can replace the elite in Brussels - Orban added.
