Orban: Hungary will never vote for Ukraine to join the EU, it is against our interests

(Patria) - Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated on Saturday that the war in Ukraine is nearing its end and that Budapest will never vote for Kyiv to become an EU member because it would be against Hungary's interests.

In his annual speech, he also touched upon the conflicts in Ukraine, emphasizing that this is not about the war, but about what comes after it.

“The war is nearing its end. This is not really about Ukraine, but a war over the territory called Ukraine, which was a conflict zone between NATO and Russia, which was under NATO control,” Orban said, adding that he does not understand why European and American liberals thought that “Russians would watch this idly”.

Orban emphasized that Hungary will never vote for Ukraine to become an EU member, explaining that it would be a threat to Hungarian farmers and the entire Hungarian national economy.

“Ukraine will never be an EU member, it would be against the interests of Hungary and its citizens,” Orban said.

Among other things, he also pointed out that the Americans have now “let the skeletons out of the closet” and exposed a deeply corrupt and repressive power machine that pumped billions from the US budget into pseudo-civilian organizations, bought journalists, judges and prosecutors, politicians, foundations, bureaucrats – a huge machine that controlled the liberal world, including liberal political repression in the world.

He believes that the purpose of this machinery is to oppress nations.

“The empire has two heads and a headquarters. One head is in Washington, one in Brussels, and Soros's cash is here in Budapest,” he stated, emphasizing that this is the moment when “we Hungarians now… must mind our own business”.

“We will send a government representative to the United States and collect all data and evidence related to Hungary. Then we will urgently create constitutional and legal conditions so that we do not stand idly by while pseudo-civilian public organizations serve foreign interests and organize political actions before our eyes,” Orban stated, adding that he will do everything to protect the country's sovereignty, and that he will “clear up the situation within 20 weeks”.

Orban believes that Hungary must now wage a continuous and increasingly diverse battle with the leaders of that empire in Brussels.

“The truth is now on our side,” Orban stated, adding that this is not enough, but that strength is needed for the confrontation.

“We are fighting five major battles at once with the Brussels bureaucrats, although we do not like war. We are a tolerant, peaceful, devout people. But there are things we cannot and will not allow,” said Orban, listing migration and child protection as the biggest problems Hungary is currently facing.

He said that the constitution will regulate that “a person can only be male or female” and then told the organizers of the Budapest Pride parade “not to bother preparing this year's parade”.

The Hungarian Prime Minister says that this year will be different for Hungary, because “we are now walking down the main street of history, while our opponents are wandering through muddy suburban side streets”.

Orban emphasized that a handful of Hungarian rebels have been fighting the empire for 15 years, and now is the time to turn the situation in their favor.

“Yesterday we were heretics, today half the world is knocking on our door. They said we were the past. It turns out we are the future. We are evergreen, like the Rolling Stones,” he stated.
