Indictment against Ujić Mileta: Capturing and killing of civilians

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A prosecutor from the Special Department for War Crimes has filed an indictment against Ujić Mileta, born in 1951 in Rogatica. The accused is charged that during 1992 and 1993, during a wide and systematic attack by the VRS, police, and paramilitary formations on the civilian population of Bosniak nationality in the Rogatica area, as the deputy commander of the VRS Rogatica Brigade, he participated in the persecution of the civilian population.
 
The indictment states that the accused commanded the attack on the village of Kozadre, in which he personally participated, during which about 20 civilians, including underage children and women, were wounded by artillery fire, after which they were captured, and 8 captured military-able men were killed, houses and property were burned, and the remaining civilians were taken into unlawful detention and subsequently expelled and transported from the municipality of Rogatica.
 
The bodies of the 8 killed victims were found, exhumed, and identified after the war. The accused is charged with committing the criminal offense - Crime Against Humanity under Article 172, Paragraph 1, Point h) of the Criminal Code of BiH. The prosecution will prove the allegations by calling about 60 witnesses and expert witnesses, including 7 witnesses with protection measures, and by submitting more than 120 pieces of evidence. 

The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH.
