Indictment against Anđelić: Damaged the Budget by over 1.3 million KM

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - An indictment for the criminal offense of customs fraud has been filed, which damaged the budget by more than 1.3 million KM. The accused Anđelić Mladen (1974) and the company “Špar Merc“ d.o.o. Kiseljak, are accused of repeatedly submitting false invoices, reducing the amount of customs duties during the import of meat and thus damaging the budget and all citizens of BiH.

A prosecutor from the Department III of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH has filed an indictment against:

- Anđelić Mladen, born in 1974 in Kiseljak, a citizen of BiH

- Legal entity - company “Špar Merc“ d.o.o. Kiseljak.

The accused are charged with importing large quantities of meat and meat products into BiH on at least 20 occasions during 2007 and 2008, and submitting false invoices from suppliers from the Netherlands during the import, thereby repeatedly reducing the customs base and evading customs duties in amounts ranging from 7,000 KM to 136,000 KM per import, and in most cases in amounts of around 70,000 KM.

During the investigation, evidence was collected that the accused, in this manner, during 20 import processes, committed customs evasion in a total amount of 1,381,029.64 KM, by which amount the budget and all citizens of BiH were damaged.

The accused are charged with committing the prolonged criminal offense of customs fraud under Article 216 of the Criminal Code of BiH.

The Prosecutor's Office will prove the allegations of the indictment by calling approximately 20 witnesses and expert witnesses and submitting more than a hundred pieces of evidence.

The indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
