Accusations against Drljević, investigative bodies to reveal why the match between Goražde and Olimpik was interrupted

GORAŽDE, (Patria) - Sports workers of the Bosanskopodrinjski Canton, in an open letter sent to multiple addressees, the mayor, the minister of sports, parliamentary representatives, and media, have expressed great concern regarding the events in football in BPK, stating that the interruption of the Goražde – Olimpik match was the last straw.

The open letter heavily accuses Mirsad Drljević, the representative of BPK in the federal Football Association, and claims that the match interruption occurred due to "personal gain, base motives, and vengeful reasons."

- Everyone in the city knew something was being prepared a few days before the match. However, we hoped that Drljević, with his executors, would not go that far. We are used to being robbed, having penalties awarded against us, and receiving unnecessary cards. For years, they have tried to cause interruptions in our matches. We know that Drljević has saved other clubs, worried about who would advance to a higher league, while making life difficult for the club from the city where he lives. We have somehow gotten used to these injustices. We endured and tolerated all of it. After the match with Olimpik, it is time to say enough is enough – the letter states.

Drljević, in a message to Patria, stated that he is not aware of any letter and has no information about it.

- An anonymous letter is not worth my attention. I am available for other affirmative topics – Drljević said.
Due to such events, the letter states that criminal charges will be filed with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, SIPA, and investigative bodies will be asked to verify all allegations.

- It is time for the BPK Government and the mayor to make a statement. Unfortunately, we do not trust the Football Association of BiH or the Federal Association. We want the truth. Why has Drljević held our football, the canton, and most clubs hostage for years? Why can no one advance on refereeing and other lists if they don't play as he dictates? Goražde is a club with a bright tradition. Throughout its rich history, it has produced hundreds of excellent players. We are proud that a club from our canton is celebrating its centenary, but we are ashamed of some individuals – it states.

The letter also notes that numerous messages and recorded conversations will be submitted to the investigative bodies.

- We, the sports workers, have filed complaints where necessary and hope that the culprits will not have protectors there as they have had for years from our BPK Government – states a group of sports workers.

The public should know, they emphasize, why honest people like the respected businessman and humanist Senad Islam, and Muhamed Zejnilhodžić, are leaving football.

- Why are true sports workers and coaches with appropriate licenses being suspended? The BPK Government has a chance to remove those who are already boasting, "how they have already kicked Goražde out of the league."
