Farewell visit by Zvizdić: Michael Murphy leaving BiH

(Patria) - Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA) Denis Zvizdić received the US Ambassador to BiH Michael Murphy for a farewell visit and thanked him for the long-standing friendly relations of the USA towards BiH. 

He expressed gratitude for the significant role the USA plays in building BiH society and for the support it provides to our country on its path to integration into NATO and the European Union.

Zvizdić specifically thanked for the support during and after the tragic floods and landslides in several municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and said he was informed that the US Embassy is in constant communication with BiH authorities and agencies to provide assistance to efforts to repair the consequences of this disaster.

Zvizdić and Murphy also discussed the political situation in BiH, current events in state government, the need to continue the Euro-Atlantic path and reforms on that path, and commented on the results of the local elections held yesterday.

“Regarding the economic situation in BiH, we must fulfill what the European Commission requires of us as soon as possible in order to activate the Growth Plan,” Zvizdić said during the meeting.

They also discussed the importance of the Southern Interconnection from the aspect of secure and stable gas supply for citizens and the economy, which, as assessed, is of great importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Zvizdić wished Ambassador Murphy success in his future career and expressed hope for continued successful cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United States of America, and also wished much luck and a successful mandate and stay in BiH to the new Deputy Chief of Mission of the USA in BiH, Daniel Kosko.
