Opposition in the Ministry of Interior and the Special Prosecutor's Office of Republika Srpska: Why don't they react to evidence?

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Opposition figures from Republika Srpska Milan Radović, Igor Crnadak and Nebojša Vukanović spoke today with the special prosecutor of Republika Srpska Miodrag Bajić about election thefts. Before that, they also held a meeting with the head of the cabinet of Dragan Lukač, given that the Minister of Interior of Republika Srpska is on a trip.

Among other things, they expressed dissatisfaction with the stopping of buses that were bringing citizens to last night's protest in Banja Luka.

“At the meeting in the police, we expressed our dissatisfaction with the excessive double standards they are showing. The gathering was permitted, no one had the right to stop and check citizens. This is the Ministry of Interior of all citizens of Republika Srpska. We mostly criticized them because the public is appalled by the footage of thugs breaking into polling stations in Doboj. Even after five days, no one has acted on it,” stated Nebojša Vukanović, adding that they discussed the same topics in the Prosecutor's Office of Republika Srpska and emphasized that their work must be faster and more efficient.

He adds that the violations on election night are “organized crime” and a “coup d'état.”

Igor Crnadak, vice-president of the PDP, also addressed the media, stressing that the series of talks they have initiated will not end today.

“If you have footage of people committing obvious criminal acts – why didn't the police act ex officio?” he asked, adding that he hopes for answers next week, when they should also meet with Lukač.

He noted that dialogue will continue with the prosecutor's offices, and that they expect a meeting soon with Švraka, the Republika Srpska chief public prosecutor.

The president of the SDS, Milan Radović, emphasized that their teams will also submit certain reports to the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina for what has “come out in the media,” and that it is crucial for the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina to decide to open the bags with voting materials.

“The CEC should open the bags – that is key in all of this. We also have clear footage of ballot tearing with no reaction. The Prosecutor's Office is not independent; every prosecutor has a higher instance. We will also contact the chief prosecutor. We have approached the problem seriously to see this through to the end,” he emphasized.

Vukanović again spoke about additional evidence, referring to the case of Nevesinje.

“In a place where we had observers, where Trivić received 122 votes, she was recorded as zero, and the minutes were photographed. That man and the other members of the polling station committee have not been arrested,” he said, reminding that they also had a communication breakdown with polling station committees for several hours during election night, which they had previously pointed out.

He reminded that by the end of this week, they will most likely hold protests in front of the CEC, and then march to the OHR.

“We want Schmidt to hear the voice of the people,” Vukanović announced, adding that they are outraged by the High Representative's behavior.

He claims that many people from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina have already announced their arrival, and he asks that no one appear with any insignia.

“This should be a peaceful gathering of citizens from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska who are dissatisfied with the work of the judiciary and the CEC, but also with the behavior of Schmidt, who, while votes were being counted, made changes to the Election Law – that has never happened anywhere in the world,” Vukanović stated.
